Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sits on top of the Bundesliga goalscoring charts with 16 goals in 15 appearances so far this season.
Germany legend Lothar Mathaus believes that the player is worth about (Euros) 30million more than World record signing-Paul Pogba.
The Gabon international has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City in recent seasons but he seems destined for a move to Real Madrid after stressing his desire to move to the club on numerous occasions. He has grown into a key player for BVB since making the move to the club from Saint-Etienne in 2013.
The 27-year old started out his Dortmund career as a winger in the 2013/2014 season because of his blistering pace. When Robert Lewandowski left the club for Bayern Munich the following season, Aubameyang became BVB’s main goal threat and has developed into a prolific striker since then.
After striking 25 goals in 31 Bundesliga games last season, he has followed it up with 16 goals in 15 games so far this season and is currently the league’s top scorer.
Mathaus, who won the World Cup with Germany during his playing days, claimed that if Aubameyang was to leave the German side soon, it would require a world record fee to price him away. He also suggested that the player is worth much more than Manchester United ace Pogba due to the impact he has on games.
He said, “If a player like Pogba costs 105million euros, BVB would have to get 150 million euros for Aubameyang”, the former Germany international wrote in his column for Bild.
“Because he is a player who makes the difference. Pogba is not”
Paul Pogba has scored two goals and provided three assists for the Red Devils so far in the 16 Premier League matches he has featured.
